20mm × 100mm × 1220mm Closed Cell Neoprene Foam Seal

The FMORSTRP20X100X1220-400D is a closed-cell neoprene foam seal for vacuum grippers, custom end-of-arm tooling and industrial sealing applications. Its broad contact area helps reduce leakage when gripping rough, uneven or textured product surfaces.

The foam is supplied as a separate strip/seal for fabrication or replacement in vacuum tooling and can be cut or incorporated into custom gripper designs as required.

Vacuum Sealing on Irregular Surfaces

Foam seals are used where a broad compliant contact area is preferred over individual suction cups. The closed-cell structure helps limit leakage while the foam compresses against variations in surface height and texture.

Closed CellHelps restrict air leakage through the foam
Broad ContactSupports large-area vacuum gripping
CompressibleAdapts to surface variation
Custom ToolingCan be incorporated into EOAT and gripper plates

Typical Applications

  • Vacuum gripper pads and EOAT tooling
  • Bag, sack and flexible packaging handling
  • Cartons, board, lumber and textured products
  • Stone, building products and rough surfaces
  • Cushioning, sealing and protective contact surfaces

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this foam seal used for?

It is used as a compliant vacuum sealing surface on grippers and custom automation tooling, especially where product surfaces are rough, uneven or textured.

What does closed-cell foam mean?

Closed-cell construction limits air movement through the foam itself, helping the vacuum system maintain a more effective seal.

How should the foam be selected?

Select thickness, width, density and reinforcement based on surface roughness, compression, cycle rate and the geometry of the gripper.

Is this a complete vacuum gripper?

No. This item is the foam sealing material and is intended to be incorporated into a compatible vacuum gripper or custom tool.
