When to Replace the Solenoid Coil

In automated process-water, compressed-air and vacuum equipment, a replacement coil can restore the electrical actuation of an otherwise serviceable valve. A faulty coil may produce a valve that no longer responds to a correct control signal. First verify supply voltage, wiring, connector condition and the valve mechanism; a leaking diaphragm or blocked flow passage is not fixed by changing the coil.
